Procedures such as microfracture, Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL)
reconstruction, meniscus transplants, and Autologous Cultured
Chondrocyte Implantation (ACI) are performed by Dr. Welchlin at the
Center for Specialty Care. The arthroscopic method for these surgeries
is less invasive and provides the patient with a shorter rehabilitation
time. Surgeons performing these surgeries consistently have proven to
be the most effective.
Some procedues offered by the CSC team include:
* Joint Preservation and Repair - arthritic pain and joint
stability is addressed in a couple of different approaches.
Unispacers, Injection therapy and other methods are used to help
restore ligament tension and normal knee alignment while
preserving the patient's natural bone.
* Autologous Cultured Chondrocyte Implantation (ACI) - procedure for
knee cartilage defects. Small portions of the patient's cartilage
is removed surgically and sent to a lab to grow cartilage cells.
Several weeks later, the cells are implanted into the defect area
of the patient's knee to repair the defect.
* Minimal incision hip, knee and hemi knee replacements.
* Athroscopic shoulder stabilization.
* Arthoscopic rotator cuff repairs.
* Endoscopic carpal tunnel release.
* Arthoscopic ACL reconstruction.
* Wrist and elbow arthroscopy.
* Lumbar spine surgery.
* Cervical spine surgery.
