James Hitchcock, MPT, ATC

Jim is originally from Ely, Minnesota in the Arrowhead region of the state. He was raised in Brandon, South Dakota where he graduated from high school.  Jim went on to South Dakota State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training.  While at SDSU he spent the majority of his clinical time with the men’s football, basketball and baseball teams.  After SDSU, Jim pursued a master's degree in Physical Therapy at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.  While at the Mayo Clinic, Jim co-authored  a peer-reviewed article that was published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research in 2007.

Jim’s professional career began in Red Wing, Minnesota as a staff Physical Therapist in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine.  Secondarily, he was employed as an athletic trainer for the Red Wing Schools and occasionally covered high school rugby games at Edina High School.  In April of 2008, Jim transitioned to Center for Specialty Care as a staff physical therapist along with providing athletic training services to local schools.

Jim enjoys spending time with his wife Jamie and they like to take part in numerous outdoor activities when possible.  Jim and Jamie enjoy participating in various recreational sporting events.  Hobbies include:  hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, working out and spending time at the family’s resort in Ontario, Canada.
