Fairmont Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, P.A. was founded on July 1, 1990 by Corey T. Welchlin, D.O., the first Orthopedic Surgeon to live and practice in the Fairmont region. Dr Welchlin saw a need to bring quality orthopedic care to Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa.  When setting up his practice Dr Welchlin  decided to offer patients the convenience of  an Open Sided MRI, as well as, South Central Surgical Center an ambulatory surgery center that provides outpatient surgery services to many communities in our region

In December of 2000 a need was seen to offer other specialty services to the area, so Chiropractic and Rheumatology prviders were added to the organization and specialty services offered by Fairmont Orthopedics and Sports Medicine P.A .  A name change was in order, it was decided to do business as the Center for Specialty Care; so people knew that we offered more than just quality orthopedic care but other specialties as well.

Our organization is comprised of physicians, physician assistants, family nurse practitioners, nurses, clinical assistants, and physical therapists, as well as friendly and helpful reception, scheduling, medical records and administration staff.  Everyone in our organization focuses on providing quality, accessible and specialized health care services.
